Which textile company didn’t take a headache to share information about colours! Who did not dream of being able to communicate instantly the chosen colours to its customers or different services and partners wherever they are in the world. Who did not have unpleasant surprises when receiving samples, urgent orders with colours far too different from those expected? YXENDIS textile software are perfect tools for color matching, creation and production. Based on the LAB color space, all these software are able to print simulations like real fabric, without any colour distortions.
Usually, standard calibration systems create ICC profiles. These profiles take into account printers or screen characteristics and possibilities... These profiles are very satisfactory for pictures or advertising because, in those contexts, the most important thing is colour atmosphere. Slight differences are tolerated for advertising but ICC profiles are way too insufficient for textiles for which colour code must be shared and reproduced identically from initial choice, through collection creation, production, all the way to retail outlet delivery.
YXENDIS go a lot further than the usual ICC profile management system and their solution is specifically designed for textile constraints. The new advanced module developed by YXENDIS enables users to measure the printable colour range of each paper printer and then to create profiles which use all printable colours for each calibrated paper printers and all this without any colour distortion!! This module also enables you to optimize the choice of default colours when the ones chosen are outside the printer's range. A search function can also cut costs significantly by finding the closest colour already manufactured. Thus customers avoid creating a new colour already used in the production process.
IMPORTANT : to increase accuracy, all YXENDIS software products implement a full-fledged LAB mode, operational throughout the process of algorithmic simulation calculations. Therefore, it is possible to pick a colour with a spectrometer and then to apply it on yarns calibrated in size (Nm, Ne, Dtex, Tex… ) which will be used later in weaving, Jacquard, real 3D knit and printing applications in order to print simulations identical to the real fabric, without any colour distortions. LAB mode is used by all the best company in color matching as Datacolor… Why use LAB mode ? LAB mode is an absolute colour space, completely independent from external factors. Unlike usual colour space (RGB… ) it shows all colours as a human eye could see them. The LAB presentation is therefore closer to human vision. A LAB measured colour will be printed without distortion if it is printed out with numerous calibrated printers. At the opposite, if you print a colour with RGB values on different paper printers, you will have different colour print results. Another benefit of LAB mode is that the range of printable colours is much wider than with RGB coordinates (RGB, Adobe 98, Don RGB… or other CJMN types).
For textiles, the industrial colour range is very broad because the only limit is the ability of the human eye to notice different shades… The benefit of this calibration performance is huge because on a today's globalise market for customers, partners, services, the LAB mode with YXENDIS calibration, is the possibility to print out exactly the same colours on different printers (paper or fabrics) without any colour distortions and therefore enables users to print out colour patches or fabric simulations (dobby, Jacquard, printed, calibrated knit) anywhere in the world and deliver products perfectly suited to customers' expectations.
